Courage to Take the Next Step

Joshua 1:6–9“Be strong and of a good courage.” — Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
Joshua received a demanding assignment after Moses’ death. God’s command to be courageous was joined to the promise of His presence and the instruction to meditate on His law. Courage was to grow from dependence and obedience.
Divine acceleration may bring responsibilities that stretch you. A new assignment can expose fears about your ability, acceptance, or experience. Fear does not have to decide whether you will respond faithfully.
Bring the concern to God and return to what His Word makes clear. Prepare for the task, seek appropriate help, and take a manageable next step. Courage can look like an honest conversation, a careful application, or a decision to begin again.
Joshua’s commission was particular to his calling; it is not a promise that every personal ambition will succeed. Yet the passage teaches us to value God’s presence and His truth as we face responsibility.
You do not need to feel fearless before acting wisely. Let the Lord strengthen your heart. Move forward with humility, remembering that obedience matters more than appearing impressive.
Confession of Faith
Take the next faithful step. Let God’s presence strengthen your courage and His Word guide your way.
