The Touch of God’s Hand

The Touch of God’s Hand devotional design
1 Kings 18:46aThen the hand of the LORD came upon Elijah…
The secret of Elijah’s extraordinary speed was the hand of the Lord upon him. He did not outrun Ahab’s chariot merely through determination, physical strength, or human skill. God empowered him to accomplish what he could not have achieved by himself. The hand of the Lord speaks of His presence, direction, and enabling power. In this month of Divine Acceleration, remember that lasting progress begins with dependence on God. Your education, experience, relationships, and abilities are valuable, but they cannot replace the leading of the Holy Spirit. There are situations in which greater effort alone will not produce the answer you need. You need wisdom to recognise the right opportunity, courage to obey, and strength to keep moving. The touch of God does not always remove the work before you; it equips you to do that work. Elijah still girded his loins and ran. Divine empowerment and obedient action worked together. Likewise, you must prepare, make responsible decisions, and take practical steps while trusting the Lord for the strength and direction each step requires. God’s hand can bring clarity where there has been confusion, renew strength where there has been weariness, and open a way where you could not see one. Yet trusting Him also means accepting His timing. A season of waiting does not mean His hand has departed from your life. Sometimes He is preparing your character, deepening your understanding, and establishing the foundation needed to sustain what comes next. Do not measure God’s presence only by how quickly things happen. Look also for the peace, wisdom, endurance, and spiritual growth His presence produces. The same Lord who empowers you to run can teach you to wait with confidence. Today, bring your plans, responsibilities, and concerns before Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and direct your actions. When He reveals your next step, obey. You do not have to face the journey in your strength alone. His grace is sufficient, and His hand can equip you for every assignment He gives you. Reflection In what areas of your life have you been relying on your own strength rather than the Holy Spirit? How can you practise yielding control to God daily so His hand can work through you?
