Resting in the Finished Work

Resting in the Finished Work devotional design
Hebrews 4:10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Resting in the finished work does not mean inactivity; it means ceasing from every attempt to earn what Jesus has already provided. At the cross, Christ declared, ‘It is finished.’ The price for our redemption was paid completely, and nothing remains to be added to His sacrifice. Many believers love God but still live under the pressure of trying to qualify for His acceptance. They measure their relationship with Him by their performance, feelings or circumstances. But our confidence is not in what we can accomplish for God; it is in what Christ has accomplished for us. Faith enters God’s rest by trusting His Word. You are forgiven because Jesus paid for sin. You are righteous because you have received His righteousness. You are accepted because you are in the Beloved. These realities are settled in Christ. Rest also changes the way you pray. You do not beg God as though He is unwilling to help you. You approach the throne of grace with confidence, knowing that Christ has opened the way. Prayer becomes an expression of faith, gratitude and fellowship—not fear and uncertainty. When challenges arise, refuse to abandon your position of rest. Do not allow anxiety, condemnation or human effort to become your foundation. Stand on the promises of God and respond from the victory Jesus has already secured. Today, let your obedience flow from acceptance, not from a struggle to be accepted. Work faithfully, pray boldly and serve wholeheartedly, but let every action proceed from this assurance: the work of redemption is complete. TETELESTAI—IT IS FINISHED!

Confession of Faith

I rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ. I am forgiven, righteous and accepted in the Beloved. I refuse fear, condemnation and the pressure to earn what Christ has freely given me. I approach God with confidence, stand firmly on His promises and live from the victory Jesus secured for me. TETELESTAI—IT IS FINISHED! Amen.
