Delivered from the Fear of Death

Delivered from the Fear of Death devotional design
Hebrews 2:14–15And release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. — Hebrews 2:15 (NKJV)
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus defeated the devil and broke the power of death over everyone who believes in Him. The believer is no longer a helpless prisoner living under the terror of death. Fear of death places people in bondage. It produces anxiety, torment and uncertainty about the future. But Christ came to set us free from this fear. He declared: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” — John 11:25 (NKJV) For the believer, physical death is not the end of life. It is a departure from the earthly body into the presence of the Lord. Our confidence is not based on human strength or medical assurance; it rests upon the finished work of Jesus Christ. Jesus holds the keys of death and Hades. Therefore, death does not have the final word over your life—Christ does. You can live confidently, knowing that your life is hidden with Christ in God. You will not die before your time. You will fulfil your God-given assignment and complete your days in divine purpose. Refuse to allow frightening reports, troubling dreams or threatening circumstances to control your heart. Fix your attention on the promises of God. The same Jesus who conquered death lives in you, and His eternal life is at work within you.

Prayer

Father, thank You for delivering me from the fear of death through the victory of Jesus Christ. I reject every spirit of fear and receive the peace that comes from knowing that I belong to You. Help me to live each day boldly, joyfully and purposefully. I declare that I shall fulfil my assignment and complete my days according to Your will, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
