Satan Was Defeated

Satan Was Defeated devotional design
Colossians 2:15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
The Cross was not a defeat for Jesus; it was the place where Satan and all the powers of darkness were decisively defeated. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus stripped principalities and powers of their authority and publicly demonstrated His victory over them. Satan’s principal weapon against humanity was sin and its consequence—death. But Jesus bore our sins, satisfied the demands of divine justice and broke the power of death. Hebrews 2:14 declares that through death, Jesus destroyed the one who had the power of death—that is, the devil. As a believer, you are not trying to defeat Satan; you stand in the victory Christ has already accomplished. You have been delivered from the authority of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of God’s beloved Son. The enemy may attempt to intimidate, accuse or deceive you, but he has no legitimate authority over your life. Therefore, refuse to live in fear. Resist every lie of the enemy with the truth of God’s Word. Exercise your authority in the name of Jesus and enforce Christ’s finished work in your life, family and circumstances. Christ has triumphed, Satan has been defeated, and you share in Christ’s victory. Tetelestai—it is finished!

Confession of Faith

Jesus Christ has defeated Satan and all the powers of darkness. I have been delivered from the authority of darkness. I stand boldly in Christ’s finished work, and I walk daily in victory, freedom and dominion. Amen.
