Paid in Full

Colossians 2:14Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
When Jesus declared, “It is finished,” He announced that the debt of sin had been paid completely. Nothing remained outstanding. God did not postpone the payment or reduce the amount—Jesus settled it in full through His sacrifice on the Cross.
Before Christ, humanity stood guilty before God, unable to meet the demands of divine justice. But Jesus took our place, bore our sins and received the judgment we deserved. The record that stood against us was cancelled and nailed to the Cross.
Therefore, you do not have to punish yourself for sins Jesus has already paid for. You do not earn forgiveness through suffering, religious effort or good works. You receive it by faith in Christ.
This does not give us permission to live carelessly. Instead, the revelation of such costly grace produces gratitude, love and holy living. We obey God because we have been accepted—not because we are struggling to earn acceptance.
Stop carrying yesterday’s guilt. Stop trying to pay a debt that has already been settled. Approach God confidently, knowing that Christ’s sacrifice was sufficient.
Confession of Faith
Jesus paid my debt completely. The record against me has been cancelled. I am forgiven, accepted and free from condemnation. I refuse to carry guilt for what Christ has already settled. I will live today in gratitude, holiness and the victory of His finished work. Amen.
