Nothing Can Be Added

John 19:30; Hebrews 10:14“So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” — John 19:30 “For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.” — Hebrews 10:14
When Jesus declared, “It is finished,” He announced that the work required for our salvation had been fully completed. Nothing was omitted, and nothing needs to be added.
We cannot improve Christ’s sacrifice through human effort, religious rituals or personal suffering. We do not work to earn God’s acceptance; we believe in Jesus and receive what He has already accomplished.
Jesus’ single sacrifice was sufficient. Through His finished work, our sins have been forgiven, our debt has been cancelled, and we have been reconciled to God. Good works are the fruit of salvation—not its price.
TETELESTAI—It is finished!
Prayer
Father, thank You for the perfect and complete sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Help me to rest in His finished work and live daily in the reality of everything He accomplished for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Confession of Faith
Christ’s sacrifice is complete and sufficient. I am forgiven, accepted and made righteous through faith in Jesus. Nothing can be added to His finished work. TETELESTAI—It is finished!
