The Cross Was God’s Eternal Plan

The Cross Was God’s Eternal Plan devotional design
1 Peter 1:20He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.
The death of Jesus on the Cross was not an accident, nor was it God’s emergency response to humanity’s sin. Before the foundation of the world, God had already prepared the plan of redemption through Jesus Christ. Throughout the Old Testament, God revealed glimpses of this eternal plan. The Passover lamb pointed to Christ, the sacrifices foreshadowed His death, and the prophets announced that the Messiah would suffer for our sins. Isaiah declared that He would be wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities (Isaiah 53:5). At the Cross, God’s justice and love met perfectly. Jesus willingly carried our sins, judgment and condemnation. His sacrifice satisfied the demands of divine justice and opened the way for us to receive forgiveness, righteousness and eternal life. Therefore, the Cross is not a symbol of defeat but the revelation of God’s eternal wisdom and triumphant love. Your salvation was not an afterthought. God planned your redemption before you ever existed. In Christ, you are forgiven, accepted and restored to fellowship with the Father.

Confession of Faith

The Cross was God’s eternal plan for my redemption. Through the finished work of Jesus Christ, I am forgiven, justified and reconciled to God. Sin and condemnation have no dominion over me. I live confidently in the victory that Christ secured for me. Amen.
